I include these shots as my only, to date, world exclusive set that was published in newspapers in multiple countries!
Through some excellent Twitter detective work and a bit of luck, I found myself perched atop a hill alongside the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve near Portimão in Portugal. We lived there at the time.
I knew that the Grand Tour [ex of Top Gear] was planning to do a feature on three super cars that they had dubbed the Holy Trinity of cars at the time and that they happened to be filing said episode at my local racetrack.
Having previously explored the area around the track when taking photos in the aftermath of a terrible wildfire, I knew that there was an excellent vantage point on a hill overlooking most of the bottom half of the circuit. Day one, was predominantly a waiting game but eventually, in the afternoon, I got my rewards and the LaFerrari roared into life in the paddock; this was followed shortly afterwards by the Porsche 918 and the McLaren P1.
With my longest lens, I was able to happily shoot the three cars, piloted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, for a good three hours. These are the images below.
After a couple of days of negotiating, I eventually sold these images to a UK national newspaper for their publication.
